Accessibility Statement
Last updated:
Vasly is committed to making apartment and home comparison usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. Accessibility is not a one-time checkbox for us - we treat it as an ongoing part of how the product is built and maintained.
1. Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we test against them as part of ongoing internal review. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological needs. The same standards guide both the website and the iOS and Android apps, which share the same underlying interface. Our conformance is self-assessed through internal testing; we have not had an independent third-party audit or certification.
2. What we have built in
- Adjustable text size: a built-in text-size control (Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large) is available in the header on every page and in the app's Settings, on top of your browser or device zoom.
- Light and dark themes: a theme picker (System, Light, Dark) lets you choose the contrast that works best for you, and the app respects your operating system's appearance setting by default.
- Colour contrast: text and interface colours are chosen to aim for WCAG AA contrast ratios in both light and dark themes. Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
- Keyboard access: interactive controls are reachable and operable with a keyboard, and forms can be submitted with the Enter key.
- Screen-reader support: semantic HTML, descriptive labels, and ARIA roles are used so screen readers such as VoiceOver, TalkBack, and NVDA can announce content and controls. Error messages are announced when they appear.
- Responsive, reflowing layout: the interface adapts to small screens and high zoom levels without loss of content or horizontal scrolling.
- Respecting user preferences: we honour your saved theme and text-size choices across the website and the app, and the operating system's reduced-motion and appearance settings where applicable.
- Clear, plain language: we write in plain language and use consistent navigation so the product is easier to understand.
3. Known limitations
We are honest about where we are still improving. We are aware of, and actively working on, the following:
- A small number of complex data views (such as the side-by-side comparison grid) are still being refined for the smoothest screen-reader experience.
- Some third-party components we rely on - for example map tiles and address autocomplete - are outside our direct control, and their accessibility depends on the provider.
- We have not yet completed a full independent audit; our current conformance claim is based on internal testing.
If you hit a barrier that is not listed here, please tell us - real reports help us prioritise.
4. Compatibility
Vasly is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) and the assistive technologies built into modern operating systems, including VoiceOver on iOS and macOS, TalkBack on Android, and common desktop screen readers. Using the most recent version of your browser and assistive technology will give the best experience.
5. Giving feedback or requesting help
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of Vasly. If you encounter a barrier, need information in a different format, or want to report a problem, please contact us:
- Email: hello@vasly.app - please include the page or screen, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you were using, if any.
We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days. If you are not satisfied with our response, let us know and we will work with you to find a resolution.
6. Ongoing commitment
Accessibility is reviewed as part of how we build new features, not bolted on afterwards. We test changes against the standards above, fix issues we find, and update this statement as the product evolves. This page will be revised whenever there is a material change to our accessibility support, with the date above updated accordingly.
