Commute
Enter your daily destination (work, school) and every unit row gets a "Track commute" button that opens Google Maps directions from the unit to here. The schedule below decides what departure time and mode the link defaults to - usually you want morning rush hour because that's the commute you'll repeat.
If Google Maps shows "Leave now" instead of your chosen time, just tap the time pill in the Maps UI to adjust - some browsers strip the timestamp parameter. Your travel mode is always honoured.
Region & Currency
All money amounts are formatted in your chosen currency. Defaults are detected from your browser's locale on first load.
Rating Mode
Dealbreakers work in any mode - go to a category below and check the dealbreaker box for the relevant person. If a dealbreaker is rated 0 by that person, the apartment shows a red ⚑ flag in the list (hover to see which categories triggered it).
Multiple raters: pick how many people are rating together (up to 5). Each person rates each category independently. The score per category is the average of all ratings entered (so the max stays at 3 per category, same as solo mode). Categories where only some people have rated still count - we don't penalize partial entries.
Number of raters
Cost Rating Thresholds
Set the net rent thresholds that decide how many points the Cost category earns. Anything at or below the "3 points" amount scores 3, between that and the "1 point" amount scores 1, and anything above scores 0.
e.g. 4500
e.g. 5000 (must be greater than the 3-point amount)
Auto-calculated from above
Area Median Benchmark (optional)
Tell Vasly what a "fair" rent and a "fair" purchase price look like for the area you're searching. We'll show each unit as a percentage above or below the median - so "$5,300 / +6%" jumps out faster than "$5,300" alone. Get the numbers from a quick search on Zoopla / Rightmove / StreetEasy / Zillow / your local equivalent. Set to 0 to disable.
e.g. 4800. Compared to each rental's net rent.
e.g. 850000. Compared to each listing's sale price.
Rating Categories
Vasly ships with four Core categories enabled (Living, Kitchen, Bathroom, Bedroom) and a long list of Recommended ones disabled by default. Enable any Recommended category that matters to your search - terrace, dishwasher, view, pet policy, school district, whatever. Disable a category to hide it from the form and exclude it from score totals; its existing data is preserved and comes back when you re-enable. You can also add your own custom categories below. Edit the 1pt / 3pt guide for each.
Show categories for:
Reset
Reset your customizations (theme, cost thresholds, disabled categories, custom categories, custom utilities, edited guides) back to factory defaults. Your apartments are preserved. You'll be asked to type reset to confirm.
Premium
Manage your plan, add capacity, and review billing.
Security
Vasly only allows one signed-in device per account at a time - logging in anywhere new automatically signs out every other device. If you suspect someone else is using your account, sign out of every device (including this one) and change your password.
Recent sign-ins
Open this section to load your recent sign-in history.
Delete my account
Permanently delete your Vasly account and every apartment, rating, and setting tied to it. We'll also cancel any active subscription so you won't be billed again - but Vasly does not issue prorated refunds for the current period (see note below). Type delete to confirm.
If you bought premium with a license code, that code is consumed and cannot be reused. If you paid via Stripe (when enabled), the recurring subscription is cancelled automatically; the current paid period runs out as normal but you'll lose access immediately on deletion. Need a refund instead? Contact support before deleting.

VASLY
Welcome - let's get you set up
How Vasly's scoring works
After your fifth viewing, the kitchens blur together. Vasly fixes that by turning gut feelings into numbers - so you can compare ten places objectively instead of trying to remember which one had the better light.
For every feature - kitchen, light, laundry, etc. - score it:
0
Missing or a dealbreaker. No dishwasher, no natural light, no laundry hookups. The thing isn't there - or it's bad enough you'd walk away.
1
Present but mediocre. Works fine. You wouldn't brag about it, but it's adequate. Most features land here.
3
Genuinely great. A feature you'd actively miss if it was gone. The reasons you'd choose this place over the other one.
Why no "2"? Forcing a 0/1/3 split makes you commit. A "2" is the lazy middle. Vasly wants you to decide: is this thing actually special or just acceptable?
Vasly then totals your points, divides by cost (rent + bills + amenities), and shows a $/point figure - the cheapest dollar-per-point usually wins. Plus dealbreaker flags and a "Best Pick" recommendation on the Units page.
Pick your look
Click any swatch to see it instantly - the rest of Vasly will recolour around your choice. You can change this any time in Settings.

Sets your default Units view. Each unit you add gets tagged Rent or Buy independently, so you can switch freely later.
Determines the currency symbol, decimal style and default cost thresholds.
Each rater scores units independently and Vasly averages the totals - perfect for couples and houseshares where opinions differ.
Every unit gets a "Track commute" button that opens Google Maps directions to here, defaulting to Tuesday 8 AM by transit (you can change in Settings).
Helps us know what's working - this stays between us.
Your cost comfort zone
Cost is just another category in Vasly - it gets a 0, 1 or 3 score like everything else, based on how the place's net rent (or monthly mortgage) compares to your budget. Tell Vasly what "cheap", "okay" and "too expensive" look like for you:
3
It's a steal - net rent at or below this. (default $4,500/mo)
1
Acceptable - between the two numbers. (default $5,000/mo)
0
Too expensive - anything above the second number scores zero on cost.
(automatic)
The "1" threshold must be higher than the "3" threshold. You can fine-tune these any time in Settings.
Your form starts simple - 4 essentials only
Vasly has 25+ optional categories (View, Pet Policy, School District, Closing Costs...). Browse them now or later from Settings.

The name
Vas comes from the Sanskrit vāsa (वास) - a dwelling, a place of residence, the act of living somewhere. The -ly softens it into something easy to say. Together: a quiet, considered way of looking at the places we might call home.
The story
Vasly was built on the back of a real apartment hunt in Manhattan. After over 200 viewings - luxury towers in Hell's Kitchen, pre-war classics on the Upper East Side, mid-rises in Gramercy - the spreadsheets piled up. Notes blurred. Trade-offs got harder to see. "How does this kitchen compare to the one we saw on Tuesday?" wasn't an easy question to answer when memory had to do the work.
So a simple system emerged: rate every feature 0, 1, or 3. Add up the points. Look at cost-per-point. Track the dealbreakers. The right place became obvious within hours instead of weeks.
Vasly is that system, refined. Whether you're renting in New York, buying in London, or comparing condos in Singapore - every place gets a fair look. Score it. See it. Choose it.
